The Background
Inspectorate International established in 1885, subsequently acquired by Bureau Veritas in 2010. Bureau Veritas is a global leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification services, serving more than 400,000 companies worldwide. Inspectorate provides inspection and testing services, including shore, ship, terminal and pipeline, inspection as well as weighing and drawing accurate samples. Inspectorate has a UK workforce of 200 employees.
The challenge
Inspectorate’s fleet comprises 65 vehicles, 55 cars and 10 vans, operating nationwide covering both management and head office roles and also off road in port and oil terminals throughout the UK.
Marshall Leasing have been supplying Inspectorate with company vehicles since April 2014, and have now been appointed sole fleet services supplier. Previously Inspectorate had utilised the funding and vehicle supply and fleet management services of an independent broker. This involved the payment of a separate monthly maintenance fee as well costs for the other elements of the fleet management package. Marshall Leasing were able to display cost savings by moving the customer to a dedicated full maintenance contract hire arrangement incorporating from an early stage Accident Management and in-house Daily Vehicle Rental. One of the key objectives was to release key staff from car fleet duties to allow them to concentrate on core business.
After a number of meetings, and on the evidence of the first twelve months of our business relationship, it became clear that Marshall Leasing would be the single chosen supplier. This was to be quickly followed by the introduction of additional fleet management services from the Marshall Leasing portfolio.
The Experience
Marshall Leasing has since assisted Inspectorate strengthen their in-house fleet operation with the introduction of both Licence checking for both their company car and ‘grey’ fleet, and also mileage audit and fuel cost administration.
In order to assist with the day to day running of the fleet Marshall Leasing is now assisting in the car ordering and driver notification process, as well as managing the Motor Insurance Database for the customer.
