Today in the UK there are over 85,000 electric vehicles (EVs) on the road, and that’s only counting those purchased with help from the government’s Plug-in Car Grant.
The real figure is much larger. And with the recent £40 million fund awarded to Nottingham, Bristol, Milton Keynes, and London to help drive the ‘green car revolution’, thousands more are expected to take to the roads.
The fund will be spent on charging infrastructure, improving public knowledge, parking, and other schemes particular to each of the four cities. All this...

If Britain is known for anything, it’s tea, football and supercars...

There’s little better way to travel around for business than in a luxury saloon.
Their spacious and sound-proofed interiors provide the utmost of comfort, while their powerful engines and cutting-edge tech offer nothing less than a thrilling driving experience.
But for a car to be a sensible business investment, whether buying or renting, it needs to be much more than just a good ride. Just as important is the efficiency of the vehicle, as well as its ease of use and management.
After all, it’s no good kitting your fleet out with Maybachs if they only...

With growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles and ever-heightening fuel costs, car manufacturers are moving more and more toward more sustainably-powered alternatives.
For a lot of companies, this means turning to electricity. But ever since the first electric car came out nearly two hundred years ago, electric has been known for its limitations. Not least the short distance ranges, the infrastructure needed to power vehicles, and the fact it requires the design of completely new engines.
Audi, however, is taking a different approach. Since 2014, they’ve been...

Vehicles re-tested under the new WLTP fuel economy cycle are recording “greater than expected” increases in CO2 emissions when figures are converted back to NEDC, JATO Dynamics has warned, adding that this will result in significant tax rises for fleets over the coming 12 months

We’ve seen them in the movies, from ‘KITT’ the star of Knight Rider to the unfortunate ‘Johnny cabs’ in Total Recall, but when will we see them on our streets? And more specifically, when will they be a reality for everyday day use in our companies?
It’s believed that self-driving cars offer a wealth of benefits to road users—including cyclists and pedestrians. As human error is the single biggest risk in driving, they’re expected to bring a dramatic increase in safety and a significant reduction in accidents. In one study...

A company car can mean many things to many people: a mobile workplace, a public statement, a part of a wider supply chain; whatever it is, it’s a much valued component of your organisation.
So it goes without saying they need to be reliable, economical, and above all, fit for purpose.
It’s strange then—but not unsurprising—to see many organisations base their decisions according to superficial factors like make, model, and lease cost.
This behaviour is known to lead to problems related to unsuitability and maintenance issues further down...

Does hopping in a small aircraft and flying over to a business meeting instead of taking a cab sound too farfetched or the vision of some far-off future?
Autonomous air taxi service Volocopter would disagree. In September 2017, in Dubai, the German-based transportation company conducted the first successful test flight of their manned, fully-electric passenger drone.
The giant helicopter slash drone has two seats, eighteen propellers, and is powered by nine electric batteries which give a flight time of around thirty minutes. Although the taxi service would involve...
