5 Stunning Cars To Look Out For In 2017

We’re living in an exciting time for car manufacturing and design.

Among some of the most prominent emerging trends are the widespread move towards electric powered vehicles, the appearance of crossover sport-utility vehicles, an influx of new, lighter composite materials, and, as always, a surge toward more horsepower.

In our round-up of some of the hottest cars to look out for in 2017, you’ll see a bit of it all. All the cars are expected to reach dealers’ showrooms in the new year, so if you haven’t already, get yours ordered now!

Alfa Romeo Giulia

Wrapped in typical Italian styling, the Giulia is Alfa Romeo's next midsize sedan to grace the streets. As expected from the car manufacturer, the Giulia delivers in the looks department, but it certainly doesn’t skimp on grunt – packing an all-aluminium 2.0-litre 276-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine. And if you opt for the top of the range model, the Quadrifoglio, you’ll get a 505-hp bi-turbo V6 that will get you from 0 to 60 in just 3.8 seconds.

Aston-Martin DB11

The DB11 is Aston-Martin’s latest supercar offering and in part a homage to earlier, classic DB models. But on the whole, the DB11 is well and truly from the future, riding on a lightweight bonded aluminium structure and being pulled forward by a 5.2-liter 660 hp twin-turbocharged V12. Taking it to the limit will get you to 60mph in less than 4 seconds.

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

Chevrolet has come out fighting against rivals the Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang with the Camaro ZL1. The track-ready sports car comes equipped with the 6.2-liter 640-hp supercharged V8 from the Corvette Z06. And if that’s not enough for you, you can improve the aerodynamics with tweaks to the exterior, upgrade the suspension, traction and launch control.

Lexus LC

Based on a concept car from 2012, Lexus have developed a new line of premium sports cars that they hope can compete with the big boys. First to kick off their new endeavour is the LC 500. At around the size of a BMW 6 Series, the LC packs the 5.0-liter 467-hp V8 engine which can also be found in their RC F coupe and GS F sports sedan. But here it has a 10-speed automatic transmission and a new rear-wheel-drive luxury platform to propel it to 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds.

Hyundai Ioniq

Hyundai is pulling out all the stops with their new Ioniq, which the company states will be the world’s first car to come in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric versions. A modest 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine drives the hybrid models while the electric version is powered by an electric generator creating the equivalent of 139 hp. The plug-in hybrid is reported to operate on charge for around 25 miles, with the all-electric running for up to 110 miles.
