Hybrid and EV drivers will travel the furthest for staycations this summer

A survey of 2,000 people by Euro Car Parts has found that a third will travel an average of 212 more miles than usual for UK staycations this year (2021), and drivers of ‘greener’ cars plan to travel the furthest.
A third also said that they were likely to spend more on their UK staycation than in previous years.
Other key statistics include:
- A quarter plan to visit different parts of the UK more often than usual.
- 27 per cent plan to take multiple staycations.
- Less than one in ten plan to stay close to home over the summer.
- 11 per cent plan to visit their regular holiday location.
- Londoners are set to travel the furthest, followed by respondents from Southampton and Newcastle.
Interestingly, despite fears of ‘range anxiety’, owners of hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs) are set to cover the most distance, saying that they are willing to travel an extra 268 and 225 more miles than usual, respectively.
This compares with petrol and diesel vehicle owners, who are happy to drive 208 and 211 more miles than usual, respectively.
