Marshall Leasing win CEO of year Award alongside Alphabet!
As many of our clients know Marshall Leasing competes with Alphabet on a regular basis. But last week at the International Auto Finance Network Spring Conference and Awards our two companies were honoured jointly
IAFN CEO of the Year award
The winners were chosen by a selection committee of 17 judges drawn from business and consultancies. They used a robust set of independently verified procedures to score the shortlisted candidates, while the entire process was overseen by Tarun Mistry, the partner leading Grant Thornton’s leasing, asset and consumer finance sector team. After the first round of judging the CEO of the Year voting resulted in a dead heat, and a secondary set of judging rules merely confirmed the same result. In the Alphabet corner stood Richard Schooling with his fleet of 130000 vehicles and in the Marshall Leasing corner stood Peter Cakebread with his more modest 6000.
Unsurprisingly, wedon’t believe that fleet size is a determinant of service capability. This result seems to support our view, as, despitethe major difference in scale, Marshall Leasing stood shoulder to shoulder with Alphabet to scoop an equal share of this prestigious award
Peter was described by the judges as “a great figurehead for his company who has a pragmatic approach to business and is extremely knowledgeable about the industry and market place. He willingly gives his time for the advancement of the industry as a whole”.
Not only is Peter heavily involved in the industry as Chairman of the BVRLA, but he also recently took time out from his schedule to help facilitate the ACFO Annual Conference at Gaydon
