It’s not just your windscreen either… If a police officer sees snow fall from any part of your vehicle, they can issue the above penalties. Is the 2030 ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans too soon?

Fleet News has conducted a survey which revealed that almost two-thirds of fleets believe implementing a ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2030 is too soon. UK welcomes green number plates

Green number plates can now be legally used for purely electric vehicles in the UK, a rule which came into effect on December 8 2020. The design for these new number plates was approved by ministers in June 2020 as part of the UK government’s plans to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. Drivers are switching off ADAS safety systems

Autoglass surveyed 1,400 drivers with advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) enabled vehicles and found that 41% intentionally switch off safety systems such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB), which are now a common feature in new cars and vans, or lane departure warning systems, whilst driving. Almost a quarter (24%) of ADAS enabled vehicle drivers said they had not been provided with any information about the importance of safety features. Another charge to travel in London?

A £3.50 Greater London boundary charge is being considered in addition to the existing £15 congestion charge and £12.50 Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) in central London which is due to expand to the suburbs on October 25 2021. UK government lays out plans for safe travel during Christmas

On December 3 2020, the Transport Secretary Grant Shapps outlined comprehensive Christmas Travel Measures to help people travel safely over the Christmas period between December 23 and December 27 2020. These plans include the clearing of 288 miles of maintenance works and 778 miles of roadworks on motorways and A-roads. The Covid-related restrictions imposed throughout 2020 have forced companies across the UK to alter their business models for survival. In September 2020, after six months of these restrictions, Driving for Better Business carried out two surveys to determine scope of the effects of coronavirus on businesses.
