A recent survey of 1,500 British motorists by dash-cam manufacturer Nextbase, in partnership with road safety charity IAM RoadSmart, has found that the pandemic has had a negative effect on driving skills.
Key findings are as follows:
61% of UK drivers believe they are ‘COVID Drivers’ with car accidents increasing sharply by 22% over the late May Bank Holiday.
44% of drivers feel nervous about taking long-distance drives post-lockdown.

As of Monday May 17th, according to the Prime Minister's roadmap out of lockdown, it will be possible to dine inside restaurants and other venues, attend events, and you can even stay at English hotels.

We will be allowed to have meetings indoors, although all of this is recommended with continued social distancing and good ventilation of rooms.

A telematics provider has found that the number of vehicles needing a new battery has increased by a third during lockdown, reports Fleet News.

The Capgemini Research Institute has published a new report, Shifting Gears, which investigates ‘how consumers see the car as a safe space’.
Researchers believe that post-pandemic, people will continue to avoid public transportation – potentially increasing grey fleet use.

Analysis of new data from RAC Black Box Insurance has revealed that traffic levels during the current lockdown restrictions are higher than those of the first lockdown in March 2020.
Traffic levels have reduced by 22% since the latest lockdown rules were introduced on January 5 2021, compared with normal levels as recorded in the first week of February 2020.
