Proposals to expand the London ULEZ to Kent borders from 2023

A proposed expansion could see London’s Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) reach the borders of Kent and affect the A2, A20 and A21 from next year. Transport for London (TFL) have been asked to consult on expanding the area on August 29, 2023 which is intended to help the Mayor of London fulfil his promise of improving air quality and reducing traffic congestion across Greater London.  A daily charge of £12.50 would be applicable to non-compliant vehicles driving within the new zone, including residents. France has updated its Low Emission Zone Scheme post-pandemic

France has updated its Low Emission Zone Scheme post-pandemic

If you are planning to drive in France in the future, it may be helpful for you to know that the French government has updated its Crit’Air Scheme, post-pandemic.  The Crit’Air Scheme legally requires drivers in France to use a Crit'Air vignette (clean-air sticker) on the right-hand side of their windscreen to indicate their vehicle’s emission levels. These stickers can be used to restrict access in areas where air quality is poorest in order to improve air quality, with the least polluting vehicles receiving preferential parking and traffic... The Birmingham Clean Air Zone could generate up to £5.3 million in monthly fines

The Birmingham Clean Air Zone could generate up to £5.3 million in monthly fines

The Birmingham Clean Air Zone (CAZ), which began charging on June 14 2021, has resulted in 44,106 fines to drivers of non-compliant vehicles who entered the zone but failed to pay the £8 daily charge for cars, taxis, vans and minibuses.  In order to be compliant with the clean air zone and avoid the daily charge, petrol vehicles must be manufactured to Euro 4 emission standards and diesel vehicles must be manufactured to Euro 6 emission standards.  The euro emission standard of a vehicle indicates how many oxides of nitrogen, hydrocarbons...
