Bradford has started its new Class C+ Clean Air Zone

Bradford has started its new Class C+ Clean Air Zone scheme, which will charge non-compliant vans (£7 per day), minibuses (£9 per day), coaches and HGVs (£50 per day). Charges will not apply to passenger cars and motorbikes.
According to the Bradford.gov.uk website, charges will apply from midnight to midnight, 7 days per week, all year round.
The new zone is expected to reduce nitrogen dioxide (NO2) by 35 per cent and CO2 by 147,000 tonnes.
In light of local businesses and transport operators upgrading to cleaner vehicles in advance of the launch, it is expected that non-compliant vehicles will account for just 4 per cent of all traffic passing through the zone.
Bradford District residents could be exempt from the charge. You can find out more about exemptions here.
