New Legislation Helps Drivers Avoid Congestion on the Road
17 September 2019
One of the biggest problems about roads is congestion. There are upcoming legislative changes which will avoid your local motorway becoming a car park. The government has announced plans to open up data on planned changes to the road network, which will highlight potential traffic jams up to months in advance.
This news has followed as a result from a review of legislation around Traffic Regulations Orders (TROs). These are the orders behind restrictions on the road network which allows for temporary roadworks or permanent changes to be taken. The government will work with organisations, such as local authorities and the connected and automated vehicle sector who are looking to introduce legislation to allow road users to access data to the estimated 50,000 road closures a year across the UK.
