Company Car In Action
23 June 2022
June 15th and 16th saw the return of the Fleet News Company Car In Action event at Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire. The Marshall Leasing Team were in attendance across both days, and the auto drome benefitted from fantastic weather from start to finish.
The event is designed to allow fleet drivers the opportunity to test out the latest models and platforms from the OEMs and the show was packed with vehicles available to drive both Millbrook’s famous highspeed bowl and the Alpine Course. There were excellent attendance levels across both days without feeling too busy or chaotic, a really great balance for people trying to maximise their time on track.
As was to be expected, the overwhelming focus for all attendees revolved around the latest EV offerings, with test drives fully booked across both days. Hybrid and traditional ICE vehicles were also available but interest was clearly not at the same levels. The shift to EV, certainly from a fleet perspective is undoubtedly in full swing and drivers are keen to understand what is available, and just as importantly when.
New product from Nissan with the Ariya, a strong presence from the still relatively new Genesis and a wide range of updated products from Kia and Hyundai all drove a great deal of interest and footfall, highlighting that it is not necessarily the traditional German brands stealing the show. There is a sense that with the move to EV there is a resetting of the motivators when people are considering their next company car. Having said that, BMW certainly received a great deal of interest in their latest “I” models, and of course Tesla were flat out from start to finish across the two days. Both Polestar and Volvo had impressive displays, with a lovely P1800 Coupe stealing a great deal of attention!
Certainly it was a great couple of days and a chance to really experience how the newest fleet models perform and compare. Marshall Leasing is focused on supporting all of its clients with EV transitions, and understanding the product capabilities and details and is of course a big part of that. If you are considering moving your fleet to EV, Marshall Leasing will be more than happy to provide the information and guidance that you need.
