The Department for Transport announced on August 31 2020 their plans to tackle the issue of antisocial pavement parking in the UK.
Parking on pavements is common practice, but the consequences of antisocial parking are rarely considered. A review conducted by the DfT found that ‘a third of people with visual impairments and almost half of wheelchair users were not as willing to go out because of antisocial pavement parking”.

As part of ongoing vehicle emission changes in the UK and Europe, all new cars sold from 1st January 2021 must be RDE2 compliant.

The Department for Transport (DfT) has updated its Vehicle Speed Compliance Statistics (SPE) to include data from 2019.
The DfT updated a series of reports relating to speed compliance in Great Britain, the broadest of which is the SPE0112 report, of which the findings are cause for concern. It showed that 54% of car drivers were exceeding 30mph speed limits in 2019, a fifth of whom were recorded at speeds over 35mph. Worse still, 6% of these offenders were caught at 40mph or more.

Penalty charge notices (PCNs) cover a broad range of road traffic offences, such as not paying a congestion charge, going against a ‘no left turn’ sign, or driving in a bus lane.
