ONE MAN WENT TO MOW WENT TO MOW A MEADOW from Jonathan Ross
This little friend has stood shoulder to shoulder with me as I have fought nature. I think she was built to crop a modest suburban garden turf, but we have taken on nettles, brambles, and rough grazing grass as well as manicured lawns. I don’t know how many miles we have hiked together over the last ten years, but she has been a loyal and faithful companion. When you mow you have time to think, put your problems into perspective, take in the view. I love gardens but the only time I ever really...

WORLD OF INTERIORS
Of course as a company we are always urging our clients to ensure that vehicles are returned in a decent condition. All dents and damage repaired and everything in accordance to the BVRLA’s guide lines on FW&T. So it’s only right that I should lead by example. My accident record remains one of irritating ‘bad luck’. It’s wing mirrors that get hit by white vans going past me to fast in narrow lanes, windscreens that get chipped, and tyres that get damaged in pot holes because our roads are so badly maintained, and...

This is our 10th year at Goodwood and it really was a classic year for both the weather and client involvement. We have managed to take over 70 people into the Festival of speed over two days.
Clients enjoyed hill drives and this year's hospitality courtesy of SEAT was sensational.
"I guess Goodwood is now the Motor Show, and when you consider all the other attractions on offer it's no wonder so many of our customers choose to join us. My favourites are enjoying the view from the balcony of the grand house and the classic cars on the lawn. But...

Doug has been with Marshall Leasing for 11 years. His last post was managing the fleet for the national crime squad, where he had special responsibility for covert under-cover vehicles used by the drug squad
ML: Doug, life must seem a bit dull after working for the drug squad?
DJ: Evidence still plays a big part in my work! In my role I am responsible for managing the re-charge on vehicle returns. It’s really important to produce the evidence and focus on the facts when you’re dealing with such an emotive issue as re-charges. Our clients have to trust me...

DOWNLOADING THE SUN by Jonathan Ross ML:
Tesla Superchargers sounds like the kind of car toy I would have had for Christmas as a kid in the Eighties, but this one is for real. No one on the planet could help but be impressed by Elon Musk. As the man behind Tesla Motors, Space X, Solar City and founder of PayPal he is a visionary with attitude, and in my opinion is getting a lot right when it comes to the next generation, electric and beyond.
My father-in law-lives in Den Haag, Holland, and as you would expect his community is tidy, clean and, well, European. His...

On Tuesday night, at the annual FN50 dinner, Peter Cakebread was inaugurated into the FN50 Hall of Fame. This was, of course, about recognising the man, but it is also about recognition of the brand. Coincidentally, Peter has been with Marshall for almost 25 years, and alongside his inauguration it was announced that Marshall Leasing has hit 25 in the Fleet News top 50 leasing companies in order of size.
Twenty five years is a long time on anyone’s loyalty card, and Peter has not made this journey alone. Alongside him are fellow directors and...

It’s a dirty business. We have seen the London Mayors office switch its justification for the congestion charge from congestion management to cleaner air management. Diesel was the answer and the government altered its tax collection process to encourage company car drivers to make the change. Petrol was as bad as cigarettes (which had to be banned ), but now it seems we have all been smoking non tipped senior service and the government got the wording down the side of the packet, setting out its health warning wrong. Diesel is apparently extremely bad for your...
